Tutoring Services

Haley’s Hope offers one-on-one tutoring that greatly improves reading, spelling and writing of children and adults with dyslexia. This improvement is seen and measurable.

Dyslexia takes a special teaching approach only found in an Orton-Gillingham based system. We engage the eyes, ears, touch and sensory movement to connect letters and sounds into words in the dyslexic brain.

Students come to our private classrooms and learn directly from one teacher, moving at their individual pace. Our center is located in West Fargo, ND, with satellites in Fargo, Detroit Lakes, Mahnomen and Hawley. Please inquire if you need remote coaching services.

Two sessions per week of 50 minutes are recommended for best results.

Ideally, dyslexia is caught in grades K-2, but many of our students are higher grades. Some are adults.

Haley’s Hope teachers are certified and skillful at the Susan Barton Method influenced by the Orton-Gillingham system, first developed in the 1930s. Our founder personally-trained in the Barton method to teach her own profoundly-dyslexic son to read and succeed. She has travelled the U.S. to see best practices for its use.

Structured literacy instruction is supported by research. It is systematic, structured and builds concepts one after another. In other words, there is a plan. Integrating listening, speaking, reading and writing incorporates all aspects of literacy.

Caring Haley’s Hope teachers are here to fit your schedule, often tutoring after the school day and during the summer. We teach in Fargo, West Fargo, Mahnomen and Hawley.

Since 2011, we’ve helped over 600 children get back on track.

Individuals with dyslexia need one-on-one help so they can move forward at their own pace. Teachers coach, build esteem, give immediate positive and corrective feedback, and develop skills and confidence.

They were chosen for their great abilities to communicate with kids, teachers, moms, dads and others who care.

Study Skills

Getting organized and focusing on studying are a common challenge for kids with dyslexia. It can stop them from learning and affect grades.

Haley’s Hope provides real-world strategies for students at all levels, from elementary through college, so they can reach their true academic potential.

We help students understand how to structure their study time, organize for learning and manage their time.
